A quick crochet update.

I have made a start on my crochet project from the cotton yarn I got in Sweden, and I thought I would show  the start here. Then I will post more about it later once it's finished (that might take a while...).
Two balls of yarn are spent so far, and I have started on the third. It it going along quickly, but I am going to stop now to weave in all loose threads before I carry on.
I am crocheting squares with a circular centre in single colours.

And a little more more crochet:
Today my mother gave me a cutting from a magazine. She had saved it for me thinking I would be interested in it.

These are patterns for retro style crochet pot holders, and they are really sweet :)
Two of the patterns are for circular pot holders, something which I like very much.

I sometimes find it a bit difficult to crochet after a written pattern, but after reading through I think I am going to manage these ones. This will be a little crochet project on the side of the first one.
I immediately had to try out crocheting the flower for the first pair of pot holders.

I am also crocheting some small decorations for Easter/spring, that hopefully will be finished in time for Easter...

I like the shades of your crochet cotton even more done up in the squares ... especially the dark plum colour :) The pot holders are cute too ... love that swirly pattern! You've got a lot of work ahead of you Hilde. Have a great weekend. Wendy

Lovely squares! The yarn you have chosen is very pretty. It's great that your mum kept crochet magazine cuttings for you - mine does the same for me :) Elisabeth x

I really like the colors of your circles-in-a-squares :-) So pretty.

You are really lucky to have such a thoughtful mother - those vintage pot holders are really pretty!
