Mai / May

Time passes quickly and now we have entered May.

Lately I have been spending time decluttering indoors, doing a little knitting, and much tidying around the garden.
The days are longer and lighter, yet chilly, I hope for some warm weather soon.
Today I washed and cleared the greenhouse, and it is now ready for planting. A little too early to plant the tomato plants, but it is so nice that the greenhouse is all cleared and ready.

The windowsills inside my house are all filled up with seedlings, so I have moved a few seedlings into the greenhouse. I hope they will be fine, as the nights are cold.

For noen dager siden sådde jeg squash og to sorter agurk. Ingen spiring enda, men forhåpentligvis snart :)

A few days ago I sowed seeds og squash and two varieties of cucumber. No sprouting so far, but hopefully it will not be long :)

The sweet cherry tree in the garden is looking beautiful now, all covered in flowers.
The lawn has turned green and the grass is growing. On Friday we mowed the lawn for the first time this year.

The little plum trees are starting to bloom too :)
The herb garden (in the background) is all tidied and ready for a new growing season.

Se som det grønnes i hagen :)

Now my garden is really turning green :)

A photo of the big full moon last night, so beautiful!

Have a wonderful new week :)

The moon was so incredible last night... so big and amazing! Your greenhouse is looking just wonderful and your garden is looking so much like spring. It fills your heart with hope and happiness! The days really are getting longer - here in Iceland too... things seem to be quite similar where we live. And thank you so much for your comments on my blog!

God Morgen, Hilde

Yes, the moon was lovely wasn't it. Stirs something in me. Always good to see the green returning even if it is still cold and raining. If you have some fleece (or newspaper at a push), those plants should be okay under such a cover inside your greenhouse. Might need to rest them on something rather than directly on the plants.

Hi Hilde - I am a bit behind, sorry!

Your garden looks fresh and lush and the cherry tree is so pretty! Here cherries only grow at the Golan Heights, everywhere else it is too hot for them. We missed their bloom this spring - but in about two weeks there will be the first cherries - and THAT we will never miss - cherries are my most beloved fruit!!

Actually spring is over in Israel and summer has started, there is not much green left, it is all dry now. The harvest of the grain is almost done and all the fruit trees finished flowering. But wild flowers can still be found - if you know how to look! :-)

Oh yes, the full moon was beautiful here too, on a clear sky...
