Harvesting apples.

Today we harvested apples from the big old apple tree in the garden. We did get all the apples down today, but it was a good start.

The apples in the lower parts of the tree were picked by hand, and then we needed to shake the branches for those higher up to drop.

The apples are nice this year. There's some stains on the skin as usual, but it seems to be not so much worms.

As always our Kitty was there to help us :)

We packed five large bags of apples to deliver for pressing at a local farm, and more bags will follow when harvesting the rest of the apples.
And of course I put aside some apples for this year's produce of apple sauce, juice and jelly.

Her er min samling.

These are the apples I'm keeping.
The Filippa apples do not store very well, but we put some nice looking carefully picked apples on thrays that will be stored in the pantry. Hopefully they will keep for a while.

Klem
