Wild Bird Wednesday.

I have a few more photos from our Sunday outing to the Great Pond, which I thought I would post for Wild Bird Wednesday.
Of course we saw some ducks by the pond. They were so sweet, and I took  several photos of them :)

The mallard is the most common duck in Norway, and though they are common they are always nice to see.

They swam close to the cliffwhere we were sitting. Maybe they were hoping we had some food for them?

In addition to the Mallards a single Common Goldeneye came swimming by.
It can be seen in the middle of the water in the photo above.
Seing it made me smile, because it was swimming at really high speed.

Unfortunately it didn't come as close for me to get a good photo of it, this one was the best I managed.
As seen by the brown head this is a female, and the golden eye is clearly visible.

Stokkand-hunner.
Vi så inger han-ender.

Female Mallards.
We did not see any males.

Beautiful pictures!! Mallards are also the most common ducks in Germany. Seems as if they are very flexible :-)

Your photographs are incredibly sharp – you can almost count the feathers on the Mallards, thank you for sharing them.
