Recently I have been decluttering and tidying around the house, something I do every year at spring.
While going throug a shelf I came across a bag of plantdyed yarn from last summer that I had forgotten about.
The yarn was still in skeins, and none of them were labeled. But I am rather sure the yellow yarn were dyed with coltsfoot and tansy, the green (looks grey in the photos) was dyed with tansy and copper and the browngreenish yarn with st.johns wort.
The colours are not shown correctly in the photograph, but I think the colours look very pretty each, and also all together.
I have been rolling up the skeins, and have just started knitting some small projects.
My plan is to knit and felt some pairs of slippers and mittens, to give as gifts (most probably christmas gifts, as I am not a fast knitter...)
The first pair og slippers is done, just need to sew them together and then felt them in the washing maschine. I am half done with the second pair now, which is knitted from the yellow yarn.
Finding this skeins of yarn has made me eager to get started dyeing with plantmaterials again, and today the first dyeing pot has been cooking on the stove.
The dye was made from the lichen I picked and dried in autumn. Here the pot is cooling off before the lichen is removed.
The yarn will be done sometime tomorrow. It seems to turn out brownish, possible a bit pale, but fingers crossed the colour will turn out well.
I will post photos later :)

-så hæææærrrrliiiiig!
I love these colours - so natural and all earthy. Good luck with the knitting xx
I love your wool and the fact that you die. I also like the idea of knitting then felting slippers. How big would you need to knit them before felting to get a result that fits. Also, do you have the pattern?
LOVE your new header!!!!!
This wool is wonderful - I can testify to it!!! I am waiting to see, what comes out of this pot!!
And the slippers are just lovely Hilde!
Interestingly I too took an interest in wool felting just the last few weeks. After the almost failure bag, I made another two bags, one is already felted and came out very lovely, it was crocheted. The other one I am knitting, it is almost done. I made swatches and felted them, and as it turns out the knit felts much more than the crochet. But I am still learning - this is a very fascinating creativity. I bought felt wool this time, actually a lot in many colors, there was a sale and I was quite lucky with the price.
I was a bit tempted to felt my yellow/green Norwegian bag - but I won't! :-)

Vilka vackra, mjuka färger :)
Kramar!
I read the previous post, too. Good for you, Hilde, the golden-brown, it’s such a soft and subtle color! I like it when dye is made or taken from vegetation. Varied outcome is exciting.

Wunderful warm colour!
