Well, I have continued working with the gloomy coloured superwash yarn from my stash, and have finished another knitted hat.
It's an easy "rolling hat" (as we used to call it) for myself. These hats were popular back in the days when I was in Secondary school, and everybody knitted them.
I have noticed that some bloggers have knitted similar hats recently, and have been looking out for a pattern, but did not find any that would suit my superwash yarn. So I ended up doing the same thing we did back in the 80s; I measured around my head and cast on the number of stitches needed.
I spent one full ball of yarn plus two small leftover balls of the same yarn, and I knitted it all up on needles no. 4.
It was just enough for the hat, and I find it fits nicely.
It's a simple looking hat, in a little retro style, and good for spring/autumn.
My youngest daughter is the kind and clever hat model here :)

72 grams of yarn was spent on the hat.
I still have a few more balls of superwash yarn in greys and browns, and I hope to get another two or three more hats out of it. Not the most exciting projects, but certainly practical :)

Your daughter has the most beautiful hair ever!
What a pretty color - angels must have such hair - or lovely fairies! :-)
Hello Hilde, A very pretty hat being model by your daughter. Hugs Judy
Even though it's practical and in a subdued colour, it's still a stylish hat with the rolled brim ... cute! Stunning hair on youngest too ;) Wendy
