As I have mentioned earlier one of my stash-buster projects for April was a granny square bag.
I started working on in at the beginning of the month, and have been working on it now and then througout the month.
My goal was to finish the bag by the end of April, which I did because now the bag is finished :)
All the granny squares were crocheted with naturally dyed wool.
The red shades achieved from madder root and the brown-yellowish from anatto seeds. I have also spent bits and ends dyed with redbanded polypore, spruce cones and lichens.
Alle rutene sydd sammen til ønsket form.
All the squares stitched up.
Håndtak og for er klart.
Foret er gjenbruk av en gammel gardin.
Handles and lining are ready.
The lining is made out of a recycled curtain.
And - Ta-da - here's the finished bag:
(as you can see it's been overcast here today, so I did not get to take photos in sunlight...)
Finally I decided to crochet a flower as embellishment. It is attatched with a safety pin, so it can easily be removed or moved around.
The crochet flower has an amber button in the centre :)
For the granny square bag I used up a total of 209 grams of yarn from my stash, 198 grams on the granny squares and 11 grams on the crochet flower.

Hilde, that's wonderful! I agree with everyone here - the colors are beautiful.
The bag is so cute! I like how you use naturally dyed wool, it must be so rewarding to see it in a finished project :)
Have a great week.
You my dear are absolutely amazing! Every time I pop by I am in awe of your hand dyed yarn. I especially love the colours in your header. Wish I could get colours like that down here. (insert sad face). Don't be surprised if you wake up one day and find me living in your garden. ;-) I think I would be quite happy out there. Well maybe not in winter :-) Your bag is awesome. Love the way you showed the progress along the way. Just beautiful. Hugs xoxox

This bag is really cute, love the colors
From start to finish, you have made this granny bag a work of art! The subtle shades of all your home-dyed yarns are amazing, and they all blend together so beautifully. You must feel quite proud of the end result ... it's gorgeous! The little flower just adds that perfect embellishment too. Wendy
You have created a very lovely granny bag and the flower is adorable on it... Hugs Judy
Just LOVE this bag! Thank you for showing us the progress...it was very interesting :-)
Utrolig lekkert!
OOh Love your bag Hilde - the colours are beautiful.

Dear friend, this bag is so lovely, I like the colors and I am again and again amazed what wonderful hints and shades can be achieved with natural dyeing!
Thumbs up to you Hilde!
What a lovely bag!! Great colors, and the cute flower! Fantastic ♥. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog, Hilde! Have a wonderful weekend :-)
Hi,Hilde.
This bag is really cute, I like the colors. This bag makes me feel young if I go out with that bag!
Have a nice weekend.
Tomoko
Thanks you all for your lovely words, and thanks for visiting :)
Takk Ingvild :)
